Jae Lee Dark Knight III Cover at ComicLink
Jae Lee, a leading comics artist for the past 25 years, will be featured in ComicLink’s upcoming auction. Lee’s cover art for The Dark Knight III: The Master Race #1, measuring 10” x 15”, will be in the Fall Featured Auction. The auction will close over three evenings, beginning Tuesday, December 1 and ending Thursday, December 3, 2015.
The cover will be on display this weekend at the New Jersey Comic Expo on November 21-22.
The Dark Knight III: The Master Race is the highly anticipated new sequel to Frank Miller’s Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. The eight-issue miniseries will begin in December, co-written by Miller and Brian Azzarello with art by Andy Kubert and Klaus Janson. Lee’s artwork presents a beautiful homage to the original cover of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns #1.
Bidding on the cover hit $2,000 in the first 48 hours of the auction.
“I’ve been a big fan of both Frank Miller and the original Dark Knight series since it came out in 1986. I was thirteen years old and was mesmerized by it,” ComicLink Founder and President Josh Nathanson said. “I’m thrilled to be offering Jae Lee’s Dynamic Forces variant cover for Dark Knight III #1. It’s an honor and a privilege now to have a cover associated with the latest entry to Miller’s Dark Knight saga in the ComicLink auction.
