Tilda Johnson, a/k/a Nightshade made her first appearance in Captain America #164, created by Steve Englehart and Alan Lee Weiss. After growing up in the poor part of New York City, Johnson discovered she had a natural aptitude for science. As she got older, she used her extensive knowledge to pursue a career as a criminal scientist. Later on, Johnson teamed up with the Yellow Claw to develop a method for turning humans into obedient werewolf-like creatures. While attempting to transform a group of convicts into a werewolf army, the pair were defeated by Captain America and SHIELD.

Eventually, Johnson was able to take control of a SHIELD facility. Using a new pheromone, she forced Captain America into a battle with the Falcon, before ultimately being defeated. On a separate occasion, Johnson joined forces with Stiletto, Discus, Man Mountain Marko, and Eel to rob a debutante’s ball. Unfortunately, they were all defeated and captured by Power Man and Iron Fist. Johnson later appeared as the second-in-command of Superia’s Femizons. During this partnership, Johnson developed a serum to transform men into women which she used on Captain America and Paladin.

Later, while working as a double agent for Superia, Johnson got involved in a scheme with Dredmund Druid. Together they used a serum to transform Captain America and the people of Massachusetts into pseudo-werewolves. Johnson is best known for turning Captain America into the Cap Wolf for a brief period of time. But did you know Johnson will soon be trading in Captain America for Black Panther?

Actress-singer Nabiyah Be recently revealed her role in the upcoming Black Panther film to be none other than Tilda Johnson. While it remains to be seen if Johnson will bring her werewolf serum to Wakanda, the addition of the villainous character is sure to spell trouble. Black Panther also stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, with Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown, and John Kani.

Black Panther opens in theaters on February 16, 2018.
