Spider-Man, Aquaman Keys in Heritage Weekly Auction
Copies of The Amazing Spider-Man #50 and Aquaman #1 are featured books in Heritage’s current Sunday Internet Comics, Animation & Art Auction, which will close on September 2, 2018.
The Amazing Spider-Man #50 CGC 6.5 depicts the dramatic cover of Peter Parker walking away from Spider-Man above the text, “Spider-Man No More.” Featuring a cover and art by John Romita, Sr., this issue also contains the first appearance of the Kingpin, the powerful New York City crime lord who went on to become Daredevil’s archenemy.
Aquaman #1 CGC 8.0 also has a dramatic cover, showing Aquaman and Aqualad somewhat overshadowed by three fire trolls – the sub-aquatic creatures composed of magma. The baddies invaded the Atlantic in an attempt to explode volcanoes and dominate the planet. With cover by Howard Purcell and art by Nick Cardy, this issue features the first appearance of Qwsp the Water Sprite, the playful prankster.
These key issues will be among the 938 lots of comic books, original comic art, and memorabilia that’ll be sold this weekend. They’ll be open for bids on September 2 at 6 PM CT on ha.com.
