eMoviePoster April Major Auction Closes Apr. 28-May 3
eMoviePoster’s April Major Auction, featuring 1,173 items, will start closing soon. The three-part auction will close on April 28, April 30, and May 3.
Parts I and II contain linen-backed posters of every type and size from all over the world, plus some outside of movies. Part I contains 302 linen-backed one-sheets, three-sheets, and a seven-sheets and Part II is filled with 340 linen-backed posters.
Linen-backed one-sheets include Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman, Double Indemnity, Angels with Dirty Faces, My Little Chickadee style D, Walking Dead 1944 rerelease, Two Seconds, Little Women, Dracula 1960s rerelease, Scrooge, Psycho, Gunga Din, Beau Geste, Thunderball, Back to the Woods, Goldfinger, and Bullitt international.
There’s a Jaws international seven-sheet and No Man of Her Own style B half-sheet.
International examples include French Shanghai Express poster, A Bout de Souffle one-panel, and Folies Bergere stage poster, English double crowns for Lavender Hill Mob and Man in the White Suit, Italian Fistful of Dollars two-panel, Polish Midnight Cowboy and Birds, British On Her Majesty’s Secret Service quad, Australian daybills for Breakfast at Tiffany’s and When Worlds Collide, and Belgian Superman poster.
Linen-backing is a process that is used to preserve movie posters (the best restorers de-acidify the poster during the restoration process), and to make them far easier to display (it is much easier and less expensive to frame a linen-backed poster). When linen-backing is done correctly, it can add to the value of the poster.
eMoviePoster offers a lifetime guarantee on all of the items they auction. This is especially important with linen-backed posters, since collectors are trusting the auction to detail the restoration that was done, according to eMoviePoster.
eMoviePoster doesn’t just auction U.S. and international movie posters. They also auction tens of thousands of vintage stills, lobby cards, as well as scripts, all sorts of special non-movie posters (including lots of war and travel posters, plus Mondo signed limited editions), autographed items of every kind, and more.
They add around 3,500 new lots in their biweekly auctions, every two weeks on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday – which has culminated to over 1,677,000 items. They also hold a special giant auction of bulk lots once every month or two. Collectors interested in bidding with them can sign up on their registration page.
