A notable cover featuring Batman and the Wasp’s first appearance will cross the auction block in Heritage’s Sunday & Monday Comics, Animation, Video Games & Art Weekly Online Auction. Comics close on January 3, 2021, with everything else ending on January 4.

The high grade Batman #227 CGC 9.2 features a Neal Adams cover that shares similarities with Detective Comics #31. The issue has a Robin backup story and art by Irv Novick, Dick Giordano, and Mike Esposito. It is tied for the #18 spot on Overstreet’s Top 25 Bronze Age Comics list.

Janet Van Dyne/the Wasp sees her origin and first appearance in Tales to Astonish #44 CGC 5.0. Ant-Man appears in this issue with an updated origin and it also contains the “death” of Vernon Van Dyne. Jack Kirby did the cover and art for this comic, which also contains a backup story with Steve Ditko art.
