Since Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird created the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 1984, they have been a consistent favorite for comics, animation, and film fans. The ever-cool Heroes in a Half Shell were brought to life as action figures in 1988, and now the brightly colored toys are popular collectibles in the secondary market. Several of these popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures are ready for new homes through Hake’s Auction #234.

Topping the TMNT figure lots is the Scratch Series 6 54-back AFA 80. The 4-1/2” tall figure was made for Playmate’s 1993 toy line and is one of the most desirable, if not the most coveted, figure in the series. The card has been partially punched, but the hang tab remains in place.

Mixing the Turtles with classic monsters, Playmates did a crossover line in ’94, including the Universal Studios Monsters TMNT Invisible Man Michaelangelo AFA 80. The 4-1/2” figure comes with blue accessories and trading card. Hake’s also has Creature from the Black Lagoon Leonardo AFA 80 and the Mutant Raphael AFA 80 – both with orange accessories and cards.

All four of the Turtles from the 1988 figure series are in the auction. They include the Michaelangelo Series 1 10-back CAS 85, Raphael Series 1 10-back CAS 80, Leonardo Series 1 10-back CAS 75, and Donatello Series 1 10-back CAS 80. All four figures are 5” tall and their cards have been partially punched, but the hang tabs remain in place.

The TMNT figures in the auction are rounded out by the Shredder Series 1 10-back AFA 80 and Rocksteady Series 1 10-back AFA 80+.

Hake’s Auction #234 is open for bidding now at hakes.com. Get bids in soon, because the premier event will close on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 15-16, 2022.
