Wolverine’s debut, a Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson Superman page, and the Dirty Harry Nintendo game are top lots in Heritage’s weekly auctions. The Comic Books Select Auction closes on Sunday through Tuesday, May 21-23, 2023, the Video Games Mini-Boss Auction ends on Tuesday, May 23, and the Comic Art and Animation Auction concludes on Wednesday, May 24.

A big showdown is in the comic book auction when Wolverine sees his first appearance in The Incredible Hulk #181 CGC 8.5, featuring a cover and art by Herb Trimpe. Another Marvel key offered is Daredevil #1 CGC 7.0 Signature Series Stan Lee with Daredevil’s debut and origin, and the first appearances of Karen Page and Foggy Nelson.

The original art auction contains a beautiful Swamp Thing splash by Rick Veitch and Alfredo Alcala that shows a huge, twisted tree with Swamp Thing peering around the base. On the Superman #236 story page 12 by Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson, the angels Gabriel, Michael, and Raphael are actually aliens who conjure images of Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, and Batman, to intimidate Superman.

In the video game auction, Heritage is selling a pair of games based on movies. The Dirty Harry CGC 9.6 sealed (oval SOQ R) for NES was loosely based on the film starring Clint Eastwood and the Judge Dredd CGC 9.8 sealed (made in Mexico) for SNES is based on the Sylvester Stallone movie and hails from the Mark Freedman Collection.
