Mignola & Roberson Reunite for B.P.R.D.: Declassified
Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, longtime collaborator Chris Roberson (iZombie), and artist Mike Norton (Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: From Below) are reuniting for B.P.R.D.: Declassified. The five-issue series takes the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense Agents Susan Xiang and Victor Koestler on a secret mission to Hawaii.
Agents Xiang and Koestler are looking for aerospace engineer Henry Rouch. He went missing in Honolulu while working on a classified government project. The B.P.R.D. was called in to investigate, given the supernatural aspects of his disappearance and the secrets surrounding it. The book is written by Mignola and Roberson with art by Norton, and colors by Dave Stewart.
Susan Xiang was last seen in The Shadow of the Golden Crane by Roberson and Michael Avon Oeming. She investigated the connection between her family and the mysterious Golden Crane Society. Now she teams up with Victor Koestler, an agent with the power of astral projection, for “an otherworldly missing person investigation.”

Hardman (Green Lantern: Earth One). The following issues come with variant covers by Christopher Mitten (The Foundry), Craig Rousseau (Young Hellboy), Michael Avon Oeming (Powers), and others.
“We’ve been teasing around the edges of a larger story involving an occult cold war in the pages of Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. and elsewhere for a while now, usually in the background of another supernatural investigation or monster hunt of some kind,” Roberson said. “B.P.R.D.: Declassified is a chance to pull the curtain back a bit and focus our full attention on what’s been going on in the shadows, and to see that the agents of the B.P.R.D. aren’t the only players on the board. The stakes are higher than Susan Xiang and company ever suspected.”
“The best thing about working on a B.P.R.D. story (and Chris’s stories in particular) is that I know there’s going to be something I never even THOUGHT of drawing before,” Norton said. “And let me tell you, this one does NOT disappoint!”
B.P.R.D.: Declassified #1 arrives in comic shops on February 17, 2027.
