Heritage Weekly Auctions: Horrific #13, Avengers Pages
A copy of Horrific, Doctor Doom’s first solo story, The Avengers pages, and a Carmine Infantino sketch are among the highlights in Heritage’s weekly auctions. The Comic Books Select Auction closes on Sunday through Tuesday, October 25-27, 2026, and Comic Art & Illustration Auction ends on Wednesday, October 28.
The comic book auction is a Halloween treat of mischief and thrills. Horrific #13 CGC 8.5 has a Don Heck cover of a menacing vampire, and there’s a complete run of MAD #1-23 from 1952 to ’55 bound in two hardcover volumes.
Marvel Super-Heroes #20 CGC 9.2 features Doctor Doom’s first solo story and Valeria’s first appearance. Marvel Comics Presents #72 CGC 9.8 tells Wolverine’s origin story with classic Barry Windsor-Smith art.
A strong Avenger, the Fastest Man Alive, and a zombie take a bite out of the original art auction. Al Milgrom and Joe Sinnott’s The Avengers #229 story page 10 shows why Hawkeye shouldn’t have picked a fight with She-Hulk. John Buscema and Joe Sinnott’s The Avengers #152 story page 11 is packed with team members including Scarlet Witch, Captain America, Iron Man, and Vision.
The spirit of Halloween is represented by Bernie Wrightson’s “Emerging Zombie” illustration that shows why he is the Master of the Macabre. Carmine Infantino’s sketch of the Silver Age Flash is a profile portrait that is signed and inscribed by the artist.
