The double-sized Archie's Halloween Spectacular opens with a story by Ian Flynn and Bill Galvan that has appearances by Archie Comics' supernatural, sci-fi, and superhero characters. When Medusa Doom tries to take over Halloween at Eyegore Estate, Cosmo the Mighty Martian and Fly Girl from the Crusaders step in to help.  

In the next tale, The Archies try to rehearse at a music theater only to find it haunted by a vengeful spirit. Only Betty and Veronica are brave and curious enough to investigate the haunting. Then the teens get more than they bargained for at a costume shop with very realistic outfits.  

Archie Comics can always be counted on for good holiday and event-themed issues, and this one follows suit. It has monsters and mischief, cute costumes, and the mischievous energy we embrace during spooky season. There are plenty of jump scares and thrills that can be enjoyed by an all-ages audience, with charmingly cheesy Halloween jokes and gags throughout the issue.
