The Energon Universe is getting the manga treatment with a selection of variant covers. Manga artists Satoshi Shiki (Attack on Titan) and Manabu Yashiro (Tank Chair) are providing the art. The program from Skybound, Image, and Hasbro will debut in December 2026.

The manga covers will appear on M.A.S.K. #7, Transformers #39, G.I. Joe #29, and Void Rivals #37. They will be available as 1:50 incentive variants listed as the E covers.

It starts with M.A.S.K. #7 on December 2, kicking off a new arc featuring Scott Trakker in the middle of the action. On December 9, Transformers #39 pits Optimus Prime against a surprising foe. G.I. Joe #29 presents the final Night Force conflict and releases on December 16. The program wraps on December 23 in Void Rivals #37, starting the Pit of Destruction arc for Darak and Solila.

“As a long-term manga reader, I was thrilled to have Japanese legends Satoshi Shiki and Manabu Yashiro join us for some gorgeous covers!” Executive Editor Ben Abernathy said.

The Energon Universe comic line introduced a new era of Transformers and G.I. Joe comics sharing one universe. The Transformers is written by Robert Kirkman (Invincible), drawn by Jason Howard (The Astounding Wolf-Man), and has colors by Mike Spicer (Stillwater). Void Rivals is by Kirkman, artist Conor Hughes (White Ash), and colorist Patricio Delpeche (Catwoman). G.I. Joe is written by Joshua Williamson (Superman), artist Andrea Milana (Cobra Commander), and colorist Lee Loughridge (Universal Monsters: The Mummy). M.A.S.K. is by writer Dan Watters (Batman: Dark Patterns), artist Pye Parr (2000 AD), and colorist Pierluigi Casolino (DC vs. Vampires).
