Indiana Jones is an intrepid archaeologist who has found some of the most important relics in history. He found the Ark of the Covenant, the Holy Grail, and now he is on the hunt for powerful artifacts in the Marvel universe.

Dr. Jones will appear on five covers in search of Thor’s hammer Mjolnir, Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet, Doctor Doom’s iron mask, the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak that gave Juggernaut power, and Knull’s All-Black the Necrosword. Carmen Carnero, Marco Checchetto, Sara Pichelli, Mahmud Asrar, and Iban Coello are illustrating the covers.

The Indiana Jones Marvel Artifacts Variant Covers program heralds his return to Marvel comics in Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium. The comic series is written by Jason Aaron (Wolverine) and drawn by Aaron Kuder (Planet She-Hulk), and is set after the events in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Indiana Jones made his first foray into comics at Marvel in their 1983 series, The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones. He starred in Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade adaptations, then moved to Dark Horse Comics where he appeared in nearly a dozen limited series.

Marvel will also release reprintings of their 1980s comic series in two deluxe hardcover collections. Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book I and Book II collects the first three movie adaptations and the complete run of The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones. The books will be released in October 2026. A facsimile edition of The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones #1 by John Byrne and Terry Austin is scheduled for release in November.
