The Marvel Cinematic Universe is returning to its fight with Thanos before Earth’s Mightiest Heroes take on Doctor Doom. Avengers: Endgame – retitled Avengers Endgame: Encore – will be in theaters for a special presentation that starts on September 25, 2026. Screenings will include an exclusive look at Avengers: Doomsday, which will be released in theaters on December 18.

Fans who see Encore on IMAX or Infinity Vision-certified screens can also get an additional sneak peek at Avengers: Doomsday,” per Marvel’s press release.

Avengers: Endgame was the culmination of the MCU’s first three film phases. It tied together 21 movies and a tapestry of connected stories that led to the final confrontation with Thanos and his minions. After Thanos successfully wiped out half the universe’s population in Avengers: Infinity War, the remaining heroes hatch a plan to erase what he did. Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, War Machine, Nebula, and Rocket use time travel to gather the Infinity Stones.

They successfully bring back those who were blipped, but past-Thanos comes to the future to confront them. The revived heroes join the surviving Avengers for an epic battle against Thanos and his seemingly countless soldiers.

The movie stars the original six Avengers: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, and Jeremy Renner. They are joined by Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, and Josh Brolin.

The group of heroes who enter the third act fight includes Benedict Cumberbath, Chadwick Boseman, Tom Holland, Zoe Saldaña, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Wong, Gwyneth Paltrow, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Baustista, and Vin Diesel.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame was originally released in 2019, and earned the biggest opening weekend with a worldwide total of $1.2 billion.
