The X-Files will investigate more strange, unexplainable mysteries in a new comic series from Dynamite Entertainment and Disney Publishing Worldwide. Joe Harris, the writer behind X-Files: Season 10 and Season 11 ongoing series, is returning to the franchise to pen the new book. He will be joined by artist Riley Brown (Cable & Deadpool).

“The X-Files has always been sacred to me,” Harris said. “From my own early TV fandom on Friday and Sunday nights to getting to work on one of the greatest supernatural thriller/science fiction franchises in history, the further adventures of Agents Mulder and Scully have occupied a very special place in my head and career. I am beyond honored to write them and I am absolutely over the moon to work with Dynamite on this new series.”

The X-Files TV show premiered in 1993, introducing a very small division in the FBI dedicated to studying unexplainable cases. Agent Mulder (David Duchovny), a man who believes in the possibilities of aliens, ghosts, and everything else strange and unusual, starts out as the solo member of the division. No-nonsense Agent Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) is assigned to work with Mulder, despite her deep skepticism and belief that science can explain any phenomena. The show ran for nine seasons through 2002, then returned for two more seasons that aired in 2016 and 2018.

“The X-Files is the next jewel in the crown for us at Dynamite in working with Disney and entering 20th Century territories, hot on the heels of Kelly Thompson’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel epic,” Dynamite CEO and Publisher Nick Barrucci said. “Multiple generations have loved following the cases of Mulder and Scully, and they translate absolutely perfectly to the format and serialized nature of comic books.
