Prolific comic book writer Chris Claremont has joined the Baltimore Comic-Con guest list. He’ll appear at the Baltimore Convention Center on September 25-27, 2026.

Claremont has been working in comics for over five decades, he’s a New York Times bestselling author, and has been inducted into the Will Eisner Comics Industry Hall of Fame and is a member of the Overstreet Hall of Fame.

He spent 17 years writing X-Men, penning stories like “Dark Phoenix Saga” and “Days of Future Past.” Claremont’s work on the title has had major impacts on the X-Men and comic storytelling in general. He created and co-created several important female characters like Rogue, Kitty Pryde, Jubilee, Emma Frost, Betsy Braddock, Emma Frost, Rachel Summers, Jubilee, and Madelyn Pryor. His X-Men character creations also included Gambit, Sabretooth, and Pyro, and he introduced Captain Britain and Mystique in other books.

Aside from X-Men, Claremont wrote for Marvel Team-Up, Spider-Woman, Ms. Marvel, Fantastic Four, and other Marvel titles. He wrote the 12-issue Aliens/Predator: Deadliest of the Species at Dark Horse, wrote JLA at DC, and was an editorial director for Marvel.

Claremont’s creator owned work includes The Black Dragon and Marada, the She-Wolf, and his prose novels are First Flight, Grounded!, Sundowner, and Shadow Moon, among others.
