Batman has one of the best villain lineups with bad guys like Joker, Two-Face, the Riddler, Penguin, and Poison Ivy keeping him plenty busy. Even with that deep roster of Golden and Silver Age villains, his gallery of foes has continued to grow with physically imposing Bane in the ‘90s, the sadistic Hush in the 2000s, and the Court of Owls in the 2010s.

The Court of Owls first appeared during DC’s New 52 relaunch of their entire line of comics that began in 2011. It is a secret society and criminal organization composed of Gotham City’s wealthiest and most influential citizens. The group originated from Gotham’s oldest and richest families who hold on to their positions through whatever means necessary. The Court of Owls has become a regular presence in Batman comics, prompting Overstreet Pricing Editor Yolanda Ramirez to do a recent valuation update on their first appearance.

The Court of Owls debuted in Batman #6 (April 2012), and that issue in 9.2/Near Mint- is now valued at $50, marking a 525% increase in value. This book at a 9.6 grade is now priced at $87.50, and a 9.9 is valued at $125.
