American Mythology Comics and Fright-Rags, the horror apparel and collectibles company, are working together on a line of comic books based on Fright-Rags’ horror brands and original creations.

The partnership begins with the horror anthology, Fright-Rags Presents: Tales from the Morgue, which is an homage to pre-Code horror comics. Hosted by Fright-Rags’ ghoul, the Fantom, each issue will tell “spine-tingling tales of terror, twisted morality, and unforgettable frights in the grand tradition of vintage horror storytelling,” per the press release.

The book will debut in comic shops and directly through American Mythology and Fright-Rags in October 2026.

“This is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time,” Fright-Rags founder Ben Scrivens said. “Fright-Rags has always celebrated horror’s rich history, and comics have been an important part of that legacy. Partnering with American Mythology gives us the perfect opportunity to expand our universe and bring The Fantom and our love of classic horror storytelling to fans in an entirely new way. We can’t wait for readers to crack open the crypt and see what’s waiting inside.”

American Mythology and Fright-Rags will announce more comic projects, creative teams, and exclusive editions in the next few months.
