John Connor has enrolled in Riverdale High, and the quaint town is about to become a hunting ground for Skynet in Archie vs. The Terminator. Dynamite Entertainment, Archie Comics, and STUDIOCANAL are collaborating on the five-issue miniseries that begins in October 2026.

Archie Andrews and his friends have met a lot of interesting characters in comics. They rocked with KISS, ran from the Predator, hung out with Jay and Silent Bob, encountered the Punisher, had an adventure with Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, and were even swept up in a Sharknado. Most recently, Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, and Reggie met Ash Williams in Archie X Army of Darkness.

Meanwhile, the Terminator has relentlessly hunted for Sarah Connor, John Connor, and other humans that threaten a future where machines ruled the world. Now, the Terminator is setting his sights on Riverdale to find his targets – no matter who gets in the way.

The book is written by Rory McConville, the writer behind The Terminator: Metal, whose credits also include Spawn and Red Sonja.

“Archie crossovers hold a very special place in comics, so I’m thrilled to be writing the gang’s first (maybe last?!) encounter with The Terminator,” McConville said. “Enrolling John Connor at Riverdale High felt like the perfect way to bring these two iconic franchises together and I can’t wait for readers to see what we have in store.”

The art will be handled by father-daughter duo Steven and Lily Butler. Steven Butler is known for his work on Spider-Man titles in the 1990s, as well as Sonic the Hedgehog books at Archie. Lily Butler has worked on several Archie books like Archie’s Halloween Spectacular, Sabrina the Teenage Witch: Magic Unleashed, and Josie and the Pussycats Annual Spectacular.

“When I got the invite to draw the Archie vs. The Terminator miniseries, I was deeply honored and excited at the same time,” Steven Butler said. “I’ve always loved most the Archie stories that put the gang into some sort of overwhelming peril that they had to try to get themselves out of and now this miniseries gives us the opportunity to tell that kind of story I love so much! The icing on the cake is the fact that I get to work with my daughter Lily on this project – what more could a proud dad want?”

“This story marks my first time working for Dynamite, and working on a full miniseries,” Lily Butler said. “I’m super excited to be working on characters that I’m very familiar with like the Archie crew and other characters that are new to me. I think we’re working up a really cool project and I’m excited for everyone to see!”

Each issue of Archie vs. The Terminator will have covers by Francesco Francavilla, Robert Hack, Björn Barends, and Bill Galvan. They are also offering a mystery blind bag of the first issue with limited edition variant covers randomly selected in each bag.
