Since January 2025, Hake’s Auctions has been selling the exceptional Jeff Jacob Collection that is brimming with high grade action figures, very rare pieces, complete sets, and more. Jacob amassed a collection of sought after figures, playsets, vehicles, and related toys that is anchored by Star Wars with a multitude of stand-out pieces from G.I. Joe, Transformers, and more iconic toy lines.

On July 1, 2026, Hake’s wrapped up the fifth and final Jeff Jacob Collection auction, which has seen a cumulative total of over $5 million.

“From start to finish, Jeff’s collection did not disappoint, and we could not be happier with the results. Thank you to all the bidders who participated and thank you to Jeff for trusting us with your record-breaking collection,” Hake’s General Manager Kelly McClain said.

In the most recent auction, the Star Wars Early Bird Mail-Away Kit AFA 85 with Luke Skywalker (double-telescoping), Princess Leia, Chewbacca, and R2-D2 figures sold for $23,114. The case contains the original white mailer box (with mailing address label), vacuform plastic tray with figures in sealed baggies, and a baggie with additional plastic pegs for posing figures. It also comes with a mini-catalog advertising the Star Wars figures and vehicles, and mail-away offer for the Early Bird Premium Collector Stand.

The Star Wars Early Bird Mail-Away Kit was issued by Kenner as a promotional offer. The goal was to get Star Wars action figures to consumers before they hit store shelves because Kenner was unable to meet figure demand for the1977 holiday season. Another example of the Early Bird Mail-Away Kit, this one graded AFA 75, was also sold in the auction. It topped $12,756, just over the $10,000 estimate.

The Adventures of Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark loose action figure complete AFA uncirculated 85/90 figure set hammered for $19,278. The set of 12 uncirculated Hong Kong figures comprises all of Kenner’s figures from the line, including a mail-away exclusive and figures from playsets. Each is graded U90 with the exception of two at 85 and they are encapsulated with their weapons and accessories. This lot of Indiana Jones figures crushed the $4,000 preauction estimate.

Solo action figure sales were led by the Star Wars Power of the Force Yak Face 92-back AFA 85 (Kenner Canada) achieved $13,510. The rare Yak Face figure is the most desirable of the last 17 vintage issues figures and was only released in foreign outlets.

A Jawa 12-back-A AFA 75 early version with the vinyl cape (which was later replaced by cloth) went for $12,455. A Boba Fett 21-back-B AFA 85 targeted $11,695 and a Return of the Jedi Imperial Commander 48-back AFA 80 brought $9,979, marching far beyond the $400 estimate.

A Return of the Jedi Palitoy Tri-Logo 70-back “Collector’s Special Offer Pack” Italian four-pack of action figures cleared $11,042. The cardboard header features Italian text on one side and English on the opposite side, with figures of Han Solo (in Carbonite Chamber), Yak Face, Anakin Skywalker, and EV-9D9. These figure packs were released in Italy during the 1980s with various configurations of the figures. Hake’s has seen examples before with the header flipped to show English text on the front instead of Italian. The rare piece nearly double the preauction estimate of $6,000.

The Star Wars Land Speeder (special offer) AFA Qualified 80 with C-3PO and R2-D2 figures sold for $11,042, exceeding the $10,000 estimate. The scarce “Special Offer” version contains the two action figures, both sealed in their original Hong Kong baggies, and they are encapsulated with the Kenner catalog above the box.

The Empire Strikes Back Slave I AFA 85 (rebate sticker variety) totaled $8,294. The ship has gravity operated wings and removable side, clicking cannons, opening rear ramp, movable seat, and simulated “frozen” Han Solo. This is one of 12 examples graded by AFA, with only two graded higher, per the current Population Report.
