125 years ago July 5, 1901 Artist, screenwriter, and actor Jefferson Machamer is born. He’s known for his Gags and Gals feature.
110 years ago July 3, 1916 Writer-artist, animator, and teacher Al Stahl is born. He works on Terrytoons and Fleischer Studios cartoons, founds Stahl’s Animated Productions, Inc., and contributes to Golden Age comic books.
110 years ago July 6, 1916 Animator, cartoonist, illustrator, writer, and inventor Don Christensen (also known as “Don Arr”) is born.
110 years ago July 9, 1916 Golden Age artist Mort Leav is born. He co-creates Hillman’s The Heap and Skywolf.
