Oni Previews New Archie, Sabrina, Archie in Hell Comics
Oni Press and Archie Comic Publications Inc. are collaborating on a new publishing initiative with new Archie books. They are giving an inside look at the new Archie #1, Sabrina the Teenage Witch #1, and Archie in Hell #1.
Archie #1 written by Ben H. Winters (EC’s Cruel Universe), with art by Fábio Moon (Daytripper) and Nick Cagnetti (Spirit in the Shadows) celebrates his 85th anniversary in comics. Archie has always had good friends, girlfriends, athletic success, and natural charm that has given him a very good life. In this story, readers will experience life through Archie’s eyes, interacting with well known Riverdale characters on a trip through the past, present, and future. It starts with a film festival that turns things upside down with a paradox at the center that only Archie’s pal Jughead can solve. The book debuts in September 2026 with a cover by Stuart Immonen (All-New X-Men).

“One year ago, we started work on what has quickly become one of the most significant and anticipated collaborations in Oni’s 30-year history: our new and ambitious line of titles celebrating the greatness of Archie Comics,” Oni Press President & Publisher Hunter Gorinson said. “Now, we’re proud to welcome a vital new member to that team: the phenomenally talented Ben H. Winters, who is teaming with the brilliant Fábio Moon to deliver an eye-popping, heartstring-pulling ode to what makes these some of the most celebrated characters in the history of comics. From Archie to Sabrina and Archie In Hell, our new comics are brimming with pop and power – from content to design, each issue is intended to be a highly concentrated dose of pure entertainment and unadulterated bliss, propelled by the never-ending energy of Archie’s 85-year legacy.”
“What an extraordinary honor it is to write these stories,” Winters said. “And more importantly, what a total blast. Archie Andrews is an honest-to-goodness American icon, right up there with Mickey Mouse and Bart Simpson…and just like them, he’s enterprising, curious, and kind, forever bouncing into some new adventure along with his loyal pals. I’m finding these characters delightful to write, for the same reason people have enjoyed reading Archie lo these many years – Riverdale’s just a fun place to hang out.”

Sabrina the Teenage Witch #1 by Corinna Bechko (Green Lantern: Earth One) and Kano (Daredevil) will follow in October.
“Who’d ever want to be ordinary when you could be a teenage witch instead? Still reeling from the surprise revelation of her secret birthright and with Halloween just around the corner, high schooler Sabrina Spellman is honing her craft one hex at a time and figuring out how to balance her magical new life with the crushing responsibilities of being 16 years old. But when her feline familiar Salem drops a mythical trickster on Sabrina’s literal doorstep, she might not be able to keep her two worlds from smashing together like two busted pumpkins. No time for fate. No time for destiny. No time for homework. Being a teenager is far from magical… even when you’re a witch!” per Oni and Archie’s press release.

Archie in Hell #1 arrives in November, leaving a bloody trail from 1690 to the present in a book by Patrick Horvath (Beneath the Trees where Nobody Sees) and Tyler Crook (Harrow County).
“In another time, in another Riverdale, Archie Andrews’ radiant life is about to turn pitch black. Separated from his friends and bound by a terrible curse, there’s only one way to save Archie: to damn him. But he won’t be alone for long…” according to Oni and Archie.
The partnership between Oni Press and Archie Comics was timed to begin with the 85th anniversary of Pep Comics #22 (December 1941), featuring the debut of Archie Andrews. In addition to the new titles, they will release comic collections and deluxe graphic novels that will be published by Oni in the fall. The Archie publishing and licensing collaborations will also include a new live-action film written by Tom King and produced by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller for Universal Pictures.
