Vought Rising First Trailer Takes Viewers Back to 1950
The Boys has ended its five-season run with plenty of bang (and violence), but the world of Supes is already looking to the past for the next spinoff series. Prime Video and Sony have released the first teaser trailer for the Vought Rising prequel series starring Jensen Ackles as fan-favorite character Soldier Boy.
The trailer sets the scene in New York City in 1950 with Soldier Boy interested in joining a new mission. It introduces the new group of Supes, Private Angel (Elizabeth Posey), Bombsight (Mason Dye), and Torpedo (Will Hochman), who appear to be popular with citizens of the city. The action-heavy trailer bounces back and forth between happy scenes of community, and violent moments like a painful experiment with the power-unlocking Compound V.

Vought Rising was originally announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2024, where The Boys TV show creator Eric Kripke described it as “a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s.” He also stated that it will follow Soldier Boy’s early adventures and Stormfront’s “diabolical maneuvers” when she was going by Clara Vought.
Paul Grellong is the showrunner and executive producer on Vought Rising. The executive producing team also includes Kripke, comic creators Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, and several others. Ackles and Stormfront actor Aya Cash are also producers on the project.

The series also stars KiKi Layne, Ethan Slater, Jordan Myrie, Ricky Stafferi, Brian J. Smith, and Nicolo Pasetti. Additional recurring cast members are Cecily Strong, Mark Pellegrino, Annie Shapero, and Eric Johnson.
Vought Rising is the fourth spinoff of The Boys. The franchise also includes the animated anthology The Boys Presents: Diabolical, the college set Gen V, and the upcoming The Boys: Mexico (produced by actors Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal).
The series will debut in 2027.
