The great hero Conan is up against the ancient enemy Set and the Serpent Army in Conan the Barbarian: Scourge of the Serpent Vol. 1. Robert E. Howard’s iconic character has dealt with Stygian sorcery and the snake creatures in the past, but hasn’t faced Set’s incredible power before.

The book is written by Jim Zub (who began the new Conan series in 2023), with art by Ivan Gil (The Battle), and colors by Joao Canola (Conan the Barbarian: Battle of the Black Stone). Titan Comics and Heroic Signatures have provided a trailer for the new book before it arrives in stores in the end of May.

“The serpent god’s influence coils around the Hyborian Age and every other age linked to it. Three stunning supernatural stories will weave together to answer a chilling question of past and present – What is Set’s grand plan for humanity and, now that it’s begun, can it be stopped?

From Conan mastermind scribe Jim Zub and the wonderfully wicked art of Ivan Gil comes an epic event not to be missed by long-time fans of the barbarian,” the official synopsis states.

Titan Comics acquired the license for Conan the Barbarian comics in 2022 and kicked off a 30-issue ongoing Conan the Barbarian series in 2023. Since then, they have also released Free Comic Book Day specials and collected editions.

The trade paperback collects Conan: Scourge of the Serpent #1-4 and Conan the Barbarian FCBD 2025. It will be in stores on May 26.
