
FF #1 & Other Marvel Keys Take Heritage Auction to $471K
Important first appearances and key moments from Marvel’s Silver to Copper Age books boosted Heritage’s G&T Collection comics showcase auction to a total of $471,888. The auction on April 2, 2026, was anchored by Fantastic Four #1 CGC 8.0 Northland pedigree, which sold for $100,650. Famous for containing the origin and first appearance of the Fantastic Four, this issue also introduced the Mole Man and Giganto, and has an instantly recognizable cover by Jack Kirby.
The second highest price of $53,680 went to Iron Man’s debut in Tales of Suspense #39. Tony Stark’s debut and origin story also includes the first appearances of Wong Chu and Professor Yinsen, with a cover by the team of Kirby and Don Heck.
X-Men #1 CGC 8.0, with another big team introduction, grabbed for $37,820. The original X-Men team of Professor X, Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Iceman, Angel, and Beast debut in this key, along with their longtime nemesis, Magneto.
Journey Into Mystery #83 CGC 7.5 with Thor’s debut and another Kirby cover hammered for $35,380. The Amazing Spider-Man #1 CGC 7.5, featuring Spidey’s origin and the first appearances of J. Jonah Jameson and the Chameleon, went for $35,380.
More highlights continued with The Amazing Spider-Man #5 CGC 9.2 (notable Doctor Doom appearance) that sold for $13,420, Iron Man #1 CGC 9.4 (first issue of his solo series) realized $5,124, and X-Men #12 CGC 8.5 (origin of Professor X, first Juggernaut) saw $3,904.
