Marvel; $4.99

Carol Danvers is still having trouble remembering moments from her past long after Rogue messed with her memory. Flashes are coming to her, but she is having trouble distinguishing between her real memories and the seventh sense that allows her to see into the future. Superhero friends like Tony Stark and Jessica Drew are trying to help her process what is happening. Meanwhile a group of low threat villains throw her for a loop, and a piece of evidence might help find some answers.

The new series by Paul Jenkins starts by establishing that Captain Marvel isn’t in a great headspace, though she is still prepared for superhero action. Painful memories are rattling around in her head, joined by clues to a situation that will unfold in the future.

Artist Lucas Weneck provides a good variety of panel structures, action shots, and the emotions that Carol is feeling. The art is complimented by colorist Rod Fernandes who matches the tone with sad Carol in gloomy shades, fighting Carol in orange shades of fire and dust clouds, and analytical Carol in clear, vibrant colors.
