Dark Horse; $18.99

Angel and Faith are back, but not together, not even on the same continent. While delivering Giles to Buffy in the US, Faith has joined Kennedy for a mission and the possibility of joining her security organization Deepscan. Meanwhile in London’s Magic Town Angel discovers a group of vicious pixies attacking a young man but doesn’t get much of a thanks for saving him.

Because Angel and Faith let loose a stream of supernatural forces Angel determines that he should watch over the afflicted. But someone else has taken up the mantel in his stead. Can this person be trusted? Is Angel really helping the people who were affected by the resurrection spell he cast or making the situation worse?

The story was written by Victor Gischler with art by Will Conrad on “Where the River Meets the River,” and pencils by Derlis Santacruz and inks by Andy Owens on “Old Habits.” Adventure and moral ambiguity continue to plague the stories of Angel and Faith, a pair steeped in the dark side of magic yet trying to protect those who can’t protect themselves. Conrad’s art is dark and broody like the title characters with enough color to make the story pop off of the page.
