The Punisher TV Special to be Released in May 2026
Jon Bernthal is taking aim at another Punisher appearance in the TV special, Punisher: One Last Kill. The Marvel Special Presentation is a one-hour episode that will stream on Disney+ on May 12, 2026, one week after the season two finale of Daredevil: Born Again.
Bernthal debuted as the Punisher in the second season of Netflix’s Daredevil series, first as an antagonist to the titular hero, then becoming his ally. He starred in two seasons of his own Punisher show in 2017-2019, seeking vengeance for the murders of his wife and children, and then he helped a young woman who was being hunted and stopped Jigsaw’s gang of violent criminals.
He returned as the antihero in the first season of Daredevil: Born Again when corrupt cops started wearing his symbol, then he saved Matt Murdock from an attack. Frank was captured by Mayor Wilson Fisk and imprisoned in a hidden jail, but a mid-credits scene in the season finale showed him escaping.

It has not been confirmed if Bernthal will appear in Daredevil: Born Again season two. The new season began its eight-episode run on March 24, episodes 2 and 3 will be available on March 31, then one episode will be released each of the following five weeks.
After his TV special, Bernthal will play the Punisher again in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The very different tones in Spidey’s movies and Punisher’s shows is acknowledged in the trailer for Brand New Day when Spider-Man shoots web across Punisher’s mouth as Frank was about to drop an f-bomb.
Marvel has not disclosed story or cast details for Punisher: One Last Kill, though there are rumors that he will come up against Ma Gnucci, the vicious head of a crime family.
