Peter Parker went through a lot in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and now he is facing that new reality in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Sony and Marvel dropped the first full length trailer for the fourth Tom Holland-starring Spidey movie, catching up with Peter and some of his new allies.

It starts with a sad Peter Parker dangling high above the city and watching a video of M.J. (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon) getting excited to start college. Like the rest of the world, M.J. and Ned had forgotten who Peter is and his identity as Spider-Man because of the spell Doctor Strange cast at the end of No Way Home. Now, Peter is wrestling with telling his former girlfriend and best friend his identity.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man is a bonafide hero and is celebrated for protecting the city. During one such outing, Peter encounters the Punisher (Jon Bernthal), and from their banter, it’s clear that the two already know each other. Peter’s superhero side seems to be going through a metamorphosis, so he enlists the help of Dr. Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) to figure out what is happening.

We see Peter go up against a mysterious enemy, he has an encounter with Scorpion (Michael Mando), and fights the Hand. Through all of this, a narrator talks about the life cycle of a spider, how they change, and have a rebirth. The trailer also features a shot of Spider-Man saving a man that mirrors the cover of his debut in Amazing Fantasy #15 and M.J. calls him a “friendly neighbor.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), and written by Chris McKenna and Eric Sommers, the pair who have written the first three Spider-Man films starring Holland, Zendaya, and Batalon. It also stars Marvin Jones III as Tombstone, Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, and Liza Colón-Zayas.

The film will swing into theaters on July 31, 2026.
