Godzilla: The Roleplaying Game is stomping through its Kickstarter campaign goals. The campaign has passed the initially goal of $60,000, the first stretch goal of $120,000, and the second stretch goal of $150,000. At press time, the campaign is up to $165,000 and will continue running until Thursday, April 2, 2026.

The tabletop card game is based on the world of Godzilla that was created in 1954 and the evolution the franchise has gone through over the years. The game is inspired by Kai-Sei Era IDW comic books where humans have adapted to living in a world in which kaiju freely traverse the planet. People scavenge through the rubble left in the wake of the kaiju and infiltrate a corporate lab where mutants are tortured. The game features Godzilla, Rodan, King Ghidorah, Megalon, Mothra, Destoroyah, and others.

“The game Focus is on creating cinematic moments in which every turn of a card matters. The Crisis Clock ticks away in the background, affected by your actions but always drawing danger closer. Smart planning and bold action can help your team save the day, but failure comes with dire consequences!” according to the description.

“Will you be a battle hardened Soldier, survivor of many kaiju attacks? Or perhaps a streetwise Thief, able to obtain whatever you need to complete the mission? Maybe you’ll be a Scientist afflicted with kai-sei mutations and searching for a cure. Whoever you choose to be, you and your team must work together to overcome the threats ahead,” the description continues.

Godzilla: The Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook is a 300-page hardcover that provides the complete engine to run the game. It has 12 character classes, large lists of equipment and anti-kaiju tools, stats for human and mutant threats and allies, lore and mechanics for the monsters, and a guide to building custom monsters. There are tools for building a campaign, a complete introductory module pitting the team against the growing danger, and players can even become a kaiju by using the alternate set of rules.

The first unlocked stretch goal will add a silk bookmark ribbon and dimensional embossing to give the front cover texture. With the second unlocked stretch goal, the Starter Set screen will now be manufactured on thick, high density cardboard with premium finish. The standard 23” x 14” play mat will now be at the larger size of 36” x 16”.

Pledge levels start at $20 for a digital copy of the Godzilla: The Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook. The digital copy and the starter set with the basic rulebook, a basic DM screen, starter adventure, and more is $40. Those items and the core rulebook with the Kickstarter exclusive cover is $60. Pledge levels continue up to $250 for retailer bundles.
