AWA Announces Graphic Novel Inspired by Marshawn Lynch
NFL football player Marshawn Lynch and his beast mode mentality have served as the inspiration for the graphic novel, Beast Mode 510. The book follows a crimefighter in a story about loyalty, community, and the spirit of Oakland, California. It will be out in October 2026
According to AWA Studios, the book has “explosive” action, social satire, and “West Coast swagger.” The publisher likened it to the justice in The Equalizer with the humor and cultural attention of Atlanta. It is written by Sheldon Allen (They Choose Violence), with art by Denys Cowan (Illuminati), inks by Dexter Vines (Superman), and colors by Chris Sotomayor (X-Men).

Beast Mode does not make invoices or sign contracts; he just gets results. “But what begins as a simple birthday surprise for his mother quickly spirals into a globe-spanning conspiracy involving: missing young women, Yakuza assassins, Silicon Valley billionaires, a million-dollar bounty, and chaos threatening the city he loves,” according to the description. “When things get serious, Beast Mode goes from Level One cool… all the way to Level Six. And Level Six is unstoppable.”
“We kind of have Oakland being a character of its own. The personality of what Oakland stands for is something that I would really like to highlight because I feel that my city gets overlooked. And then the amount of individuals that we have coming out of area, it’s also an opportunity to show a nod to a lot of the Bay Area cultures and icons that we have,” Marshawn Lynch said to The LA Times.
Beast Mode 510 features a cover by Razzah (They Choose Violence) and will be available on October 6.
