The Transformers: The Movie comic adaptations are being collected for the first time in a hardcover edition. The Transformers: The Movie Deluxe Edition from Skybound and Image in collaboration with Hasbro commemorates the movie’s 40th anniversary. It will be in comic shops in August 2026.

Originally released in August 1986, Transformers: The Movie followed the Autobots as they defend Cybertron from the Decepticons, all the while the threat of Unicron heads their way.

The hardcover collection contains The Transformers: The Movie #1-3 from Marvel and The Transformers: The Animated Movie #1-4 from IDW. It captures the final battle between Optimus Prime and Megatron, the fate of Optimus Prime, and a new generation of Autobots and Decepticons as they face the threat of Unicron.

The two series features the work of writers Ralph Macchio and Bob Budiansky, and artists Don Perlin, Ian Akin, Brian Garvey, and Don Figueroa. The collection begins with a new cover by Sean Murphy (Batman: White Knight).

The Transformers: The Movie Deluxe Edition arrives on August 12.
