The Merc with a Mouth is ready for April Fool’s Day pranks and shenanigans with the one-shot, Deadpool: April Pool’s Day #1. Writer Gail Simone is returning to the title, joined by artist C.F. Villa (X-Men) with a main cover by David Baldeón. It will be in stores on April 1, 2026.

“Join Wade Wilson as we celebrate April Pool’s Day, the way our ancestors did – with tricks, gags, and potentially universe-ending calamity,” according to the synopsis. “Wait, what was that last one? The real trick is, Wade’s being serious when he figures out how deadly the situation is on April 1, and no one believes him! But you do, right? Because if not, this could spell the end of the Marvel Universe as we know it!”

The release will be coupled with surprises like merchandise, digital content, and more. There will be variant covers by Mark Bagley, Chad Hardin, Matteo Lolli, Phil Noto, Todd Nauck, and Jim Rugg “each depicting Wade Wilson doing what he does best – driving Marvel’s heroes wild with his absurd antics” per Marvel’s press release.

Following Deadpool’s April Fool’s Day adventure, he will start in the new solo series Wade Wilson: Deadpool. The comic by Benjamin Percy and Geoff Shaw is part of the X-Men’s “Shadows of Tomorrow” era portraying a “darker – and deadlier – side of the character as he seeks redemption following a tragic mistake that cost him everything,” per Marvel’s description.
