Collectors know how hard it is to find title lobby cards in any event. This week, EMoviePoster has 399 of them listed. Lobby cards served the movie industry for years as one of their primary promotional tools. Today, while seldom used, they are among the most prized and collectible items in the hobby. The event is currently open for bidding. It will begin to close on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at about 7:00 CST. Complete details, as well as full color images of each card, are available at EMoviePoster

Regular lobby cards often contained different images from the regular promotional poster created for the film. While they share a similar size and shape to regular lobby cards, title lobby cards are an entirely different collectible. A highly individualistic collectible, title lobby cards are not found in auctions as often as their regular cousins. To have 399 of them in one auction is an exciting event.

Among the films listed are Jezebel with a fantastic shot of Bette Davis, Singin’ in the Rain, Ninotchka, Magnificent Seven, Woman Eater (a crazy tree eats women, we are not making this up, go look at the poster), Blade Runner, 12 Angry Men, Sergeant York, Bad and the Beautiful, The Killing, and many other classics.

Of special note is a rare lobby card from the 1923 release of The Big Show. The card features three early members of Our Gang. The slapstick short was only the eighth Our Gang comedy made. The card features one of the earliest reoccuring African-American figures in cinema history Sunshine Sammy standing with two fellow members of Our Gang.
