On September 30, 2026, Spider-Man will reach a major milestone with Amazing Spider-Man #1000. Marvel is honoring the momentous occasion with a litany of variant covers by iconic Spider-Man artists and many other great talents working in the industry. But before we grab a variant (or 25) of issue 1000, we are looking back at just a few of the many iconic Amazing Spider-Man covers from the first 300 issues.

The series began in 1963, with Spidey’s second appearance and a cover that paired him with the Fantastic Four. The Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has faced an impressive roster of villains over the years, many of which were introduced in Amazing Spider-Man. Vulture, Doctor Octopus, Electro, and Green Goblin are among the villains who were featured on the cover during their debuts.

The plethora of early and great covers include the debuts of Black Cat and the Punisher, and Kingpin’s first cover appearance. The first black Spider-Man suit, Peter Parker quitting the superhero gig, and many other great covers have appeared on the book.
