2015 Academy Awards Nominees Announced
The nominees for the 2015 Academy Awards have been announced, and several of the past year’s biggest films could possibly bring home multiple of those famous gold statues. The Imitation Game received eight nominations, American Sniper and Boyhood received six each, and The Theory of Everything, Foxcatcher, Whiplash and Interstellar each received five.
The nominees for Best Picture this year are: American Sniper, Birdman, Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, Selma, The Theory of Everything, and Whiplash. Boyhood and The Grand Budapest Hotel each took home Golden Globes, for Best Picture, Drama, and Best Picture, Musical or Comedy, respectively.
The nominees for Best Director are: Wes Anderson for The Grand Budapest Hotel, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu for Birdman, Richard Linklater for Boyhood, Bennett Miller for Foxcatcher, and Morten Tyldum for The Imitation Game.
The nominees for Best Actress are: Marion Cotillard for Two Days, One Night, Felicity Jones for The Theory of Everything, Julianne Moore for Still Alice, Rosamund Pike for Gone Girl, and Reese Witherspoon for Wild.
The nominees for Best Actor are: Steve Carell for Foxcatcher, Bradley Cooper for American Sniper, Benedict Cumberbatch for The Imitation Game, Michael Keaton for Birdman, and Eddie Redmayne for The Theory of Everything.
