Pedigree Comics’ upcoming Grand Auction will feature what is considered to be the world’s #1 CGC graded collection of Harvey Comics. The auction is scheduled to begin in just over two weeks on the night of Monday, January 26, 2015 and last for ten days until the night of Thursday, February 5 as a separate event on the Pedigree Comics website. The first half of lots will end on the night of Wednesday, February 4 and the remaining half will end on February 5. There is no Buyers Premium on any of the lots in the auction and every item will have no reserve. Every book is CGC graded and there is no minimum bid for this special Harvey Comics Auction. You can view over 700 lots in the Auction Preview right now. Just go to the Pedigree Comics website and click on the Grand Auctions banner.

Each week prior to the auction, Pedigree’s CEO and President, Doug Schmell, who obtained this massive collection of approximately 800 CGC graded books on consignment, will spotlight an important run from the collection. This week’s focus is on Hot Stuff. This is one of the most popular Harvey characters and with 16 different Hot Stuff Registry Sets so far, it is one of the most collected Harvey titles. This is the world’s #1 CGC Registry Set and easily the greatest collection of Hot Stuff ever assembled. There are a few very tough to find issues in the set and every book (save for the almost impossible to find #1) is a Harvey Publications File Copy. Moreover, almost every book is the single highest graded or tied as the highest graded copy. There are 95 issues in the set (he collected up to issue #115) accounting for 53% of the run (Hot Stuff went up to issue #177). Hot Stuff is one of the tougher Harvey titles to collect in high grade as many of the issues are hard to locate (save for the publisher’s file copies). This is the consignor’s favorite Harvey title (along with Spooky) and the one he put the most amount of time and effort in putting together and it certainly shows in this set as 80 of the 95 issues are in 9.4 and higher grade.

Some of the highlights from the #1 CGC Registry Set are Hot Stuff #1 6.5, #2 9.2 File Copy (Highest Certified), #3 9.4 File Copy (Highest Certified), #6 9.4 File Copy (Highest Certified), #8 9.6 File Copy (Single Highest Certified), #9 9.6 File Copy (Highest Certified), #13 9.6 File Copy (Highest Certified), #18 9.2 File Copy (Single Highest Certified), #24 9.6 File Copy (Highest Certified), #25 9.6 File Copy (Highest Certified), #26 9.6 File Copy (Highest Certified), #27 9.2 File Copy (Single Highest Certified), #28 9.6 File Copy (Highest Certified), #29 9.6 File Copy (Highest Certified), #30 9.6 File Copy (Single Highest Certified), #31 9.6 File Copy (Highest Certified), #33 9.6 File Copy (Highest Certified), #36 9.6 File Copy (Highest Certified), #38 9.8 File Copy (Highest Certified), #55 9.8 File Copy (Highest Certified), #58 9.8 File Copy (Highest Certified), #63 9.8 File Copy (Highest Certified), #65 9.8 File Copy (Highest Certified), #69 9.8 File Copy (Highest Certified), #70 9.8 File Copy (Highest Certified), #71 9.8 File Copy (Highest Certified), #72 9.6 File Copy (Single Highest Certified), #76 9.8 File Copy (Single Highest Certified), and #89 9.8 File Copy (Highest Certified).
